Western Gathering Day 2

We open our “gifts to our future selves.”

Jan's lovely "prayer wheel", opened.

Mine.

Julie unwraps hers.

My other one. We found red flowering plum leaves to be pretty successful.

And in the midst of making more bundles with the plants we found worked the best, we made some paper.  That overbeaten flax?  SO overbeaten that it would have taken a year to pull it out because it was draining so slowly, and the pulp was so fine that we couldn’t couch it even after it drained.  So we made a large sheet…

And set it in the sun to dry.  For three days.  It still wasn’t dry by the time we’d all left it.  And here’s what it looked like once it did dry.  Thanks for the photo, Jan!
